Meet Kate

A sailor from New Zealand, I moved to the UK in 2022 to pursue my professional sailing ambitions. Since then I’ve clocked up some miles on The Solent and further afield in everything from a Waszp to a VO65, with many more to come.
A life in sport
I’ve always had a strong affinity towards endurance sports. I rowed competitively for eight years in both skiff boats and surf boats. I’ve completed the Kepler Ultramarathon, Taupo full distance Ironman, and took 3rd place Women’s Team at the World Multisport Champs. I’ve also ticked off many of New Zealand’s Great Walks, living out of a pack for up to 4 days in the hills. Each event I’ve trained for has demanded different strengths mentally and physically, a lot like the wide world of sailing.

Food is fuel
A key element in endurance sport is fuelling your body, over time I’ve learned how it can make or break your performance. Getting enough calories without hindering your digestion or palate is a fine balance, and I’d love to share my experience with sailing teams who want to perform all day, every day.
